'Jane Doe: Revenant'
2026

I made this comic for my final major university project, where I had to produce a full 30-page comic issue in 3 months, alongisde other projects.'Jane Doe: Revenant' is a superhero mystery story set in New York, about a woman who wakes up in the middle of the woods with no memory, covered in blood. She tries to figure out what happened to her, only to realise she has resurrection powers and has been investigating her own death. In a quest to find her killer, she becomes becomes mixed up with murderous taxi drivers, superpowered prostitutes and a kickass drag queens.I am still developing this comic, and intend on releasing it as both a digital and physical comic mini-series in the future- with issue one hopefully being printed by the end of Summer.

'False Comfort' Zine2024

'False comfort' is a four page horror comic I made in 2024, for the The Faber Graphic Short Story Competition.I've made it free to read here, but 'False Comfort' is available to buy as a PDF on my VGEN website, if you would like to show support!

'Ophelia Sirtis Is Too Smart For Her Own Good'2025

'Ophelia Sirtis Is Too Smart For Her Own Good' is a 10-page comic I made for university, which is a small section of a larger story. We were tasked with making 5-10 comic pages, which needed at least 5 coloured pages, though the last 5 could just be inks. My story was a small section of what I plan to be a graphic novel.'Ophelia Sirtis Is Too Smart For Her Own Good' is a mystery/ horror comic about Ophelia Sirtis, a painter from Warmfield, who gets a call from her childhood friend, Moira, using an old code word that means she’s in trouble. She sets off to find Moira and discovers along the way how different her friend has become- and how much danger she’s gotten herself into. The section of the story I focused on was the point where Ophelia first sees Moira's home- she hasn't seen her friend in over a decade, so here she begisn to learn about how much Moira has changed since they were 18. She also discovers a journal Moira kept, which gives her her first lead. One thing I would improve about this comic is the lettering- when scripting I have a habit of writing too much, somethign I worked to improve on with 'Jane Doe: Revenant'. When I revisit this comic story, the scritp is certainly the area I will focus on most, and I look forward to seeing how I improve in the future.

University Exercise- 4 Panel Comic Pages2024

This comic page was made for a first year university task- we had to create a four-panel comic page as a warm up. It was only intended to be a loosely pencilled exercise, but I ended up finishing it that evening.I wanted to do more than just a regular square comic layout, and this was one of the first times I properly experimented with panelling. I also tried to experiment a lot with foreground/ midground/ background to create interesting shots, as I had mostly stayed in my comfort zone and not pushed mself with composition until this point. The lettering is something I'm glad to say I improved on in the following years, but for how new I was to the craft, I can't fault my effort with this comic page, and I look back on it fondly.

Once I had finished the first four panel comic, I wanted to try improve on my previous work, so I made a second four panel comic in my spare time. I am still incredibly proud of this page- despite some aspects I can see need improving on- as it is the first comic page I completed for myself. The colouring was also a massive step forward for me, as before I had struggled with colour theory and creating a harmonious palette. I still have a lot to learn when it comes to colouring, but this felt like the first big step towards understanding colour theory in comics.
